Field plots and demonstration spaces can now be booked as Potatoes In Practice takes on an industry future-proofing theme for 2026.

POTATOES in Practice, Scotland’s annual outdoor potato event, returns to The James Hutton Institute’s Balruddery Farm in Invergowrie, near Dundee, on Thursday, August 13th.

Potatoes in Practice is hosted by the Hutton, through the National Potato Innovation Centre (NPIC), in partnership with SRUC and Agrii, and is a key calendar date for all those in the potato industry.

This year’s theme is future-proofing the potato industry so seminars will cover the key pressing issues facing the sector, such as bruising, viruses, the latest research on PCN, sustainability, and Scottish Government’s science strategy.

There will be the chance to get up to date with the latest developments in the potato industry through a variety of demonstrations, cutting-edge research, trade exhibits and a wealth of knowledge from experts in the field, as well as networking opportunities.

Field plots and spaces for a moving machine demonstration can now be reserved, using the booking form. Forms, including field plot treatment forms, (one per plot), must be submitted by Friday February, 27th.

Outdoor gazebo and static machinery spaces should be booked by Friday, May 1st using the booking form.

Please contact the events team if you have any questions about bookings or other arrangement.
