Fresh packaging ideas for potato suppliers

Suppliers, merchants and storage houses can look at exhibits, receive regulatory and market insights and network with buyers.

POTATO suppliers visiting London Packaging Week on September 16th and 17th will have an opportunity to discover sustainable mono-material bags, lightweight sacks, and smart packaging tech to cut waste, meet UK retail demands, and comply with upcoming Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations

Amongst the exhibits, there will be recyclable paper and bioplastic films that keep potatoes fresh while lowering carbon footprints and visitors will also be able to explore packaging designs that reduce bruising, moisture damage, and food waste during transit.

Regulatory and market insights will be shared such as how to adapt to new UK packaging and recycling laws from experts representing WRAP and Defra and there will also be an opportunity to connect directly with major UK supermarket buyers such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s, and Marks & Spencer.

The event, which takes place at Excel, London, over the two days, offers an opportunity to source alternative materials from pioneering start-ups before they hit the mainstream market.
