Practical knowledge and specialist training for better potato storage
Potato Storage Insight provides independent advice, training and technical support to help growers and store managers improve their understanding of potato storage. Led by storage specialist Adrian Cunnington, its work combines practical experience with guidance on managing crop quality, storage costs and the challenges faced throughout the storage season. Its training includes a potato store management course, with the option to work towards the BASIS (Stored Potatoes) qualification.

CIC-START

Postgraduate research and training connected to the National Potato Innovation Centre
CIC-START — the Crop Innovation Centre – Skills, Technology And Research Training programme — brings together universities, research expertise and industry partners to develop the next generation of crop scientists. Based at The James Hutton Institute’s Crop Innovation Centre, and connected to its National Potato Innovation Centre, the programme supports postgraduate research addressing practical challenges in the potato and cereal industries, including crop and soil health, sustainable production and waste reduction.
