PLANNING is well underway for Potatoes in Practice (PiP), which will take place on Thursday, August 7th at The James Hutton Institute’s Balruddery Farm in Invergowrie, near Dundee.
Hosted by The James Hutton Institute’s National Potato Innovation Centre (NPIC), in partnership with SRUC (Scotland’s Rural College) and Agrii, the event will showcase a variety of demonstrations, cutting-edge research, trade exhibits, and a wealth of knowledge from experts in the field – making it a must-visit for those in the potato industry.
Seeds have been planted in the breeding and agronomy plots, speakers confirmed, 47 exhibitors so far have booked a spot to showcase their products and researchers will be present to talk about their work in the pursuit of potato resilience. There’s still time to book a place as an exhibitor.
As always, there will be a busy programme of seminars and discussions to bring visitors up to date with all the latest research and developments on topics covering:
• Modern breeding methods
• Sustainability
• Free living nematodes
• Pests and diseases
Potatoes in Practice is a key day for all of those working in the British potato sector and attracts an audience from the UK and oversees. Organisers say visitor numbers have been steadily growing, with 700 attending last year.
