SCOTTISH DISTRIBUTOR DEMONSTRATES SOLUTIONS FOR GRADING AND PACKING MACHINES, TIPPLERS AND SEPARATORS FOR HARVESTED POTATOES

GRAY Farms in Portsoy, Scotland, recently played host to a display of post-harvest potato technology organised by Agropack Solutions, a Scottish distributor for Wevano, Manter, Solidtec, Inovaa, Meconaf, Scotts UK and Vegniek.

At the heart of the event was Agropack Solutions’ state-of-the-art Grading & Packing line, featuring contributions from innovators including Wevano, Manter, Solidtec, Inovaa, and Meconaf.

A standout attraction was the U-Vision optical potato grader, which is designed to grade potatoes by size and quality. Using multiple cameras, the U-Vision precisely identifies size, eliminates defects, and produces a fully-graded product in one pass, with minimal product impact.

Another star of the day was Agropack Solutions’ rugged box tippler, built to handle both one and two-tonne boxes effortlessly. Designed in-house, it switches between box sizes automatically, with no adjustments needed. Its high capacity, consistent flow, and gentle handling, makes it a robust solution that cuts labour costs, boosts efficiency, and protects crops from damage during sorting and unloading.

Scotts UK’s Evolution separators, tailored for the root crop and vegetable markets, were also showcased.

As well as the live demonstrations, the event brought together agricultural professionals and technology advocates who were able to exchange ideas and discuss future innovation in sustainable growing.

Hospitality was provided by Sarah’s Burger Shack, which delivered a Highland-inspired lunch made with locally-sourced ingredients.
