STRATEGIES FOR ENHANCING POTATO CHAIN AND REDUCING SUPPLY CHAIN IMPACTS DISCUSSED BY KEY INDUSTRY PLAYERS.

A STAKEHOLDER consultation workshop aimed at enhancing the potato value chain sector in Assam and Bihar in north-east India recently took place.

It involved key industry players looking to develop strategies to boost farm income and reduce CO2 emissions from the potato supply chain in Eastern India. It was led by Siddhi Vinayak Agri Processing Pvt Ltd (SV Agri), which produces a variety of seed potatoes and provides potato storage and supply solutions.

Those present at the workshop included representatives from the US Department of State, US Consulate General, Kolkata, Agrico (Netherlands), SV Agrico India Pvt Ltd, Kishlay Foods Pvt Ltd, PwC, Rang De P2P Financial Services, FWWB, Samunnati Financial Services Pvt Ltd etc.

The initiative was supported by the Lightsmith Group, with backing from the US Department of State and the Nordic Development Fund.
