Azerbaijan potato imports increased by 3.2%

Country takes in more potatoes, predominantly from Turkey, compared to last year when it saw greater domestic production.

FROM January to November 2025, Azerbaijan imported 128,546 tonnes of potatoes, up 3.2% compared to the same period in 2024. The import value increased by 41%.

Figures from 2025 show the country’s main suppliers being the following: Turkey ($20M), Georgia ($7.75M), Pakistan ($7.13M), Russia ($5.97M), and Iran ($4.71M).

Last year, Fresh Plaza reported that Azerbaijan’s potato imports had decreased by 8% to 131,335 tonnes, driven by improved domestic production and a shift toward strengthening local supply.
