Researcher appeals for help from potato growers and agronomists

A RESEARCHER is looking for potato growers and agronomists to assist in studies looking at root-knot nematodes.

Celestine Oduor is currently pursuing a PhD at Harper Adams University and Fera Science ltd and her research focuses on the distribution, detection and management of Meloidogyne spp. (Root-Knot Nematodes) affecting potato crops in England.

As part of her study, she is conducting soil sampling between October and February to detect and quantify nematode presence.

“I am kindly seeking the opportunity to collaborate with growers or agronomists who may be willing to assist by granting access to potato fields for soil sampling or helping facilitate the collection process,” she said.

Anyone able to help is urged to get in touch with her by email
