GYOP SEEKS SUPPORT FROM UK POTATO INDUSTRY

200-plus school children grow their own potatoes in spring project 2024

ORGANISERS GEAR UP FOR 2025 EDUCATIONAL PROJECT

AN appeal has gone out to the British potato industry to help support the Grow Your Own Potatoes (GYOP) project for 2025.

Over the years, GYOP has made a significant impact on thousands of schools across the UK, educating children about where potatoes come from, healthy eating, and sustainable practices—helping to keep potatoes on the plates of the next generation of consumers.

Project Manager Sue Lawton said: “The last British Potato event and meeting people face to face worked wonders and I managed to get 16 different companies on board. We’re hoping to have the same level of enthusiasm for this year’s GYOP project.”
